How To...
The following action items will help you get started with GuestPal.
Action
Description
Get Started
The installation process will place a 'GP' icon on you desktop. Double-click on this icon to
launch GuestPal. The first thing that you will see is a dialog box asking if you want to
link to '[installation path]/GSPModel.mdb'. Click 'Yes' and GuestPal will link to the
example database. You can then work with this example database to see how GuestPal works.
Remove example data
After you have started enterring your own data into the database, you may want to remove
the example guests and related data. To do this, go to the 'Setup' form (click 'Tools'->'Setup')
and click the button on that page in the box labeled 'Delete Example Records'.
Rename the Database
You can rename the database by going to the 'Setup' form (click 'Tools'->'Setup') and
changing the name of the database on that form and then press enter.
Move the Database
You can move the database by going to the installation directory (typically
"C:\Program Files\GuestPal") and then *moving* the file 'GPSModel.mdb' to where ever
you want the data to be relocated. The next time GuestPal is launched, it will
notice that the database has been moved and it will ask you where it is. Enter
the new location (complete with database name, e.g., "D:\MyDir\GPSModel.mdb").
